Summary

The earliest mention of a mill here was in 1671. Remains of the dam and tailrace recorded as surviving in the 1960's and 1980's. Aerial Photographs show that the outline of Mill Pond is still visible in fields and may survive as earthworks.

Full Description

<1> Norris J.H., 1968, The Water-Powered Corn Mills of Cheshire, p.71 (Article in Journal). SCH6001.

Site described as clearly defined. Masonry of the dam and race can be seen as also can the tailrace. Building adjoining the site but this does not appear to have been the mill.

A watermill site with slight remains in the the village. Earliest mention in 1671 EPNS (Sheaf)
