Twenty almshouses will be erected on the Newcastle road, as soon as the new schools are completed; each inmate will receive £10 per annum. Each house to contain a bedroom, sitting room, and kitchen. All persons to be appointed to such almshouses shall be selected from among proper objects, and shall have been resident within the parish of Sandbach. The stipend to all the alms-people shall be £10 per annum.

1865-7. Architect, Sir George Gilbert Scott. Four blocks, each of 5 dwellings. Red and blue diapered brick; two storeys; three projecting gables to each; gable dormers; stone dressings; ground storey verandahs between gables, with wood posts and tiled roofs; casement windows throughout, with lozenge pattern leaded lights; doorways in gothic-headed stone surrounds, ledged doors; tiles.
