Bronze Age stone shafthole axe. Made of dark greywacke from the southern Lake District (Group XV). Length 232mm, width 91mm, thickness 81mm, diameter of perforation 32mm. Found in the River Croco, Middlewich around 1860.

Bronze Age stone shafthole axe. Dark greywacke (Group XV). Length 232mm, width 91mm, thickness 81mm, diameter of perforation 32mm. Drawing (1). Found in River Croco, Middlewich c.1860. Donated to St Helens Museum in 1950 (2). Thin sectioned, Group XV (3). Is this one of the axes recorded in RN: 1075?
