Full Description
Roman metal objects found by a metal detectorist working along the course of a road development. Identified and photographed by S Penny, Salt Museum. Bronze mount in the form of bird with outstretched wings, head and one wing missing, with plumage engraved on back. Surviving width 3.8 cm, height 3.7 cm, thickness, 0.2 cm. Possibly represents Roman furniture mount. Bronze trumpet brooch, poor condition, catch-place missing, Length 4.3 cm. Second century form. Brooch is now with finder (1).
