Full Description
Medieval harness pendant of six foil form. Traces of originall gilding over bronze base, with blue enamel star at centre. Suspension loop at top broken. Diam 3.8cms; 14th-15th century. Medieval Seal-Matrice. Bronze or Latten. Six faceted form tipped by vesicular suspension loop. Circular die in reverse has marginal inscription in Lombardic Capitals which appear to read 'LOVE ME AND.....' (cf. London Museum Medieval catalogue no A11711). central motif consists of clasped hands beneath fleur -de-lis. Height 1.9cms; diam of matrice 1.8cms (1).
