Full Description
<1> Engineering Archaeological Services Ltd, 1992, Warburton to Audley Gas Pipeline 1992. Archaeological Report., /4 (Client Report). SCH3667.
Three linear features recorded during a watching brief undertaken in 1992 as part of the Warburton to Audley Gas Pipeline. The first was a 2.4m wide, 0.26m deep, feature containing seven body sherds of medieval pottery with a date range of 12th to 14th century AD. The second feature measured 3.55m in width and 0.45m in depth and contained a single body sherd of medieval pottery. A third feature measuring 3.55m wide and 0.15m deep contained 15 body sherds, 2 rim sherds and one handle sherd of medieval pottery. All of these features would appear to pre-date the ridge and furrow within this section which is therefore assumed to be of post-medieval date.
