Summary

Watching brief in Sept 1993 prior to development revealed a section of a truncated pit or ditch and 2 postholes which contained a few sherds of Romano-British pottery. The features are aligned SW to NE, roughly parallel with the Roman road from Whitchurch to Middlewich, which may have run c.150 m SE of the site.

Watching brief in Sept 1993 prior to development revealed a section of a truncated pit or ditch and 2 postholes which contained a few sherds of Romano-British pottery.
