Summary

The town mill of Congleton was situated on the River Dane. There are no physical remains today. The earliest reference is 1307 and a fulling mill is also mentioned in 1386. It was probably superseded by a later watermill and the site used for textile production.

The town mill of Congleton was situated on the River Dane, earliest reference c.1307. A fulling mill is also mentioned in 1386 (1). Reference to repairs and associated works (2). It was perhaps superseded by a later watermill (164/0/3) and the site used for textile production (1).
