Full Description
Grove House Farmhouse, Off Mill Lane. 16th century with 17th and early 19th century additions and alterations. Timber framed with brick infill and red Flemish bond brick and slate roof. T-shaped plan. The entrance front is of early 19th century date. To the lefthand side is the 16th century wing, refaced in the 17th century. The righthand side also has an older recessed wing with an ovolo-moulded bressumer now embedded in the wall supporting close-studding with an angle brace at left. Interior: 17th century chamfered ceiling beams to the ground floor and one pair of base crucks resting on sandstone plinths. Full architectural description (1).
