This map depicts the mill and mill pond. The mill building (labelled mill), orientated north-west to south-east, is situated on the mill ponds dam. The tail race would suggest that the mill wheel is located on the south-eastern side of the building. The overflow leat is depicted to the north-west of the mill building, and the mill house to its north-west. The mill is occupied by Jane Wilkinson.

<7> Ordnance Survey, 1871-1882, Ordnance Survey County Series (Epoch 1) 25 inch to 1 mile - Cheshire, SJ8061, 1873-1875 (Maps and Plans). SCH2462.

Largely as previously depicted on the c.1840 map (see 6). The overflow leat comprises two shot channels running from the millpond and dam, before joining into one channel. The tail race is covered in the area of the building and it is not readily apparent where the wheel is located. The mill is labelled Smallwood Mill (Flour). There has been substantial silting of the millpond.

The mill house is depicted as three adjoining buildings, an L-shaped building, with smaller adjoining buildings to east and west. Pig styes are located to the north. The house is on a different orientation to the building depicted on the c.1840 map, suggesting a replacement.

<8> Ordnance Survey, 1896-1898, Ordnance Survey First Revision County Series (Epoch 2) 25 inch to 1 mile - Cheshire, SJ8061, 1898 (Maps and Plans). SCH3848.
