Find Spot record 1054 - Holmes Chapel viaduct

Spearhead found beneath 11ft of alluvium when excavating the foundations of the Holmes Chapel viaduct. Spearhead is 6.1ins long x 1.5ins wide. Watkin suggested it was Roman in form (1). Probably has 2 loops on the socket (2). Side-looped spearhead, lozenge shaped loops, ribbed and indented socket mouth; length 155mm. Not located (5).
