Summary

A Bronze Age flat axe was found on Padgebury Lane, in the area west of Congleton. Flat axes were one of the earliest types of metal axe made. They would have been cast in an open mould and hafted to wooden handle for use.

Full Description

A Bronze Age flat axe was found in the area west of Congleton (1). Found on Padgebury Lane, remains with finder (3). Small flat axe, slender with transverse bevel, length 84mm. Illustrated (4).
