Summary

Aerial photographs show a circular bank and ditch on this site. At ground level this consists of a line of mounds next to a silted up mere. Excavation has produced predominately post medieval finds but no structure evidence. A field nearby shows curved ridge and furrow.

Full Description

Circular bank and ditch (1). On the ground site appears as a line of mounds alongside a silted-up small mere. One mound excavated but no structural evidence. Finds post-medieval or modern, except for Neolithic arrowhead. Fields to north of hall retain curving ridge & furrow, 8.5m wide. Area to south of excavation, field walked. Only two medieval pot sherds with large volume of later material (3).
