Summary

A section of Roman road was said to have been excavated to the rear of Brookfield. Visit to site showed slight rise in hedgeline by railway but no other evidence. King Street Roman road runs between Wilderspool and Middlewich and then onto Chesterton in Staffordshire

Full Description

F J Poole reported finding a Roman Road 4could be traced by the stones showing on the surface, up and beyond the railway (1). The road runs directly along the edge of the family garden to the rear of Boothville (2). Visit to site showed slight rise in hedgeline by railway but no other evidence (3).
