Archdeacon Wood (see 2) remarked that the course of the road from Chesterton would naturally fall along the line of Booths Lane. The author remarks that it is visible for about half a mile to the north-west of Lawton Heath, where it is still in use.

<5> Margary, I. D., 1973, Roman Roads in Britain, p.302 (Book). SCH2903.

Margary route 70a King Street. Sandbach-Warrington (Wilderspool). It is uncertain what the actual course of this road was to the south-east [of Elworth], though from it's general direction it is probable that the road was designed to reach the Roman settlement at Chesterton.
