Full Description
Chapel of St Anne, Newton. Domesday mentions a priest in the manor of Newton. The field known as Kitfield was probably the site of the church, which was probably dedicated to St Anne. Kitfield is possibly a corruption of Kirkfield. Apparently there were traces of this building or its ruins in the 17th century & deeds of the period mention 'St Anne's Chapell' (1).
