Summary

Evidence of Roman wall plaster and other finds including several Roman coins were recorded during repairs to the City Wall on Nun's Road. The concentration of wall plaster suggests structural evidence nearby.

Full Description

Roman features were recovered from the City Walls area in 1931 approximately 27m south of Black Friars Lane in Nun's Road. Several coins of a first and fourth century date were recovered as well as Samian and other pottery fragments and a bronze strigil blade. Wall plaster painted in various colours was noted. (3)
