Monument record 8124 - Roman Wall, Duke Street

Possible massive Roman wall revealed south of Duke St. at 'The Wishing Steps' during construction work undertaken while cutting a drain from Bridge St. to Park St. in 1851 (1). The wall is thought to have resembled Roman work but there is no positive evidence of its date (2).
