A complete fourteenth or fifteenth century bottle, of a coarse, gritty brownish purple fabric with a handle and splashed with a dark green glaze on the outside, was found during construction work at 25 Northgate Street in 1967.

A complete fourteenth or fifteenth century bottle, of a coarse, gritty brownish purple fabric with a handle and splashed with a dark green glaze on the outside, was found during construction work at 25 Northgate Street in 1967. It is heavily wheel-marked. Handle is thumb-pressed into the body of the vessel. Whole is unglazed. Height: 153mm. Rim diameter: 55m. (1).
