Full Description
The Old Swinging Gate Inn, Seahill Road. Formerly inn, now house. C17 or earlier, but exterior of early C18 with mid C19 fenestration. Washed brick on solid rock base. Welsh slate roof and three brick chimneys. L- shaped plan. Two storey, four-bay front. Brick band at first floor. Sashes under cambered brick heads. Second bay has simple wooden doorcase approached by seven steps. Interior: Timber framing visible in hall and a rock cut cellar is reported. Full architectural description (1).
