Full Description
During the excavation of four trenches for ARP shelters in the southwest corner of the field immediately northwest of Queen’s Park Road (very near to the findspot of two Castor ware beakers, CHER 8430/8), several fragments of Roman pottery and a bronze bell were recovered (1).
The finds were reported to have been found 0.6m below the ground surface, lying on natural boulder clay, and included several forms of Samian ware, dated largely to the second century, coarse ware, and small bronze bell with a loop for suspension (1).
