Formerly large house, now children's home: c1905 by John Douglas. English garden wall bond Ruabon brick, chipped and rendered upper storey. Lakeland green slate roof and brick chimneys. H-plan house. 2 and 3-storey 5-bay north front. Moulded band at 1st floor. End bays project forward under coped and ball finialled gables. These have 2 and 3-light ovolo-moulded mullioned and mullioned and transomed windows with segmentally arched lights. The centre has similar windows lighting a stairwell and a projecting porch with pairs of finialled octagonal pilasters and an open balustrade with a griffon and motto FORTI NIHIL DIFFICILE. Broad moulded 4-centred arched doorcase with panelled oak door with long strap hinges. At right angles to left is a driftway and attached outbuilding Bind garage in pink brick with terracotta dressings. Garden front of 2-storey canted bay windows. Large late C20 brick extensions on east end.
Interior: original fireplaces and staircase visible.
