Garden laid out an the time of constrcution of the mansion house ( 1860s)

"Some of the principal plants grown at Walton Lea were camellias, roses, ferns, azaleas, chrysanthemums and hollies……the former site of the mansion and the gardens are now overgrown by large trees, However, some areas have been partially cleared and clearance of the leaf build-up has revealed edgings to former garden paths and around the fernery "
