Summary

John Leyland described around 1536 a large pool near Ridley Hall. The pool had been drained by the early nineteenth century and it is uncertain whether this was an artificial pool associated with the Hall (see CHER 331/1) and Park (see CHER 331/2) or a natural waterbody.
