Monument record 2948/1/3 - Site of 'Manse', Swanlow Lane

<1> Ordnance Survey, 1871-1882, Ordnance Survey County Series (Epoch 1) 25 inch to 1 mile - Cheshire (Maps and Plans). SCH2462.

Two buildings are depicted on OS First Edition mapping to the east of the Grade II Listed Congregational chapel built by John Douglas in 1864-5 (CHER 2948/1/0). By the time of the OS Second Edition map (source 2), the two buildings have been joined together and are labelled 'Manse'. The Manse appears much the same on OS Third Edition mapping (source 3) but is no longer visible on air photographs dating to the 1970s (source 4).
