Full Description
<1> Oxford Archaeology North, 2021, A536 Congleton Link Road: Archaeological Report, R4713 (Asset 136) (Client Report). SCH9479.
A peat deposit was identified and sampled as part of a scheme of mitigation during the construction of the A536 Congleton Link Road. Ten column samples were taken through the sequence of the deposit which have provided secure dates for the inception and end of the peat sequence, between the early Mesolithic and early Neolithic periods, respectively. This sequence can therefore be tied into evidence from other peat deposits across the area
and holds further potential for environmental analysis.
