Further potential evidence of the centurion's house (CHER 8162; OAN Building 801) at the west end of barrack block 5 (CHER 8391) in Insula XXII, was recorded in 2020-1 during the excavation of groundworks on the south side of Hunter Street as part of the Northgate redevelopment scheme. Two fragments of sandstone walling were recorded and could represent the north wall (768) and the north-east corner of the building (772), although both are slightly ‘off line’ from their predicted positions.
