Two cave shelters in overgrown unmanaged woodland, part of an ornamental panorama walk, Late 18th / early 19th century.

A) Natural overhang formation with supporting sandstone pillar made of 11 circular sandstone segments c. 60cms in diameter. Stone steps run underneath the arch and round the south side of the overhang up to a viewing platform on the field boundary above. Pillar and walkway rest on a 1.5m tall natural plinth with steps down to the ground surface. Steps are very clean and appear to be a later addition to steps cut in the natural stone.
B) 50m long shelter beneath natural overhang formation with undulating floor surface that incorporates a number of carved steps and levelled surfaces.
