Two post holes were recorded during an archaeological evaluation (trench 1b) in 2020-1 at the junction of Wheelock Street and Darlington Street. One of the post holes (feature 120) contained a sherd of residual 13th-14th century pottery which may suggest an earlier structure in this area associated with medieval or early post-medieval occupation on the site.
