The structural remains of a nineteenth century building (Building 3) fronting onto Darlington Street were recorded during an archaeological evaluation in 2020-1. The building was exposed in an L-shaped area of approximately 20m x 9m which comprised an exterior brick wall on the eastern side and south-west with internal whitewashed brick walls. The building was subdivided into six rooms, all on the ground floor; no cellars were present here. Rooms 1 and 2, the northern two rooms, were paved with a continuous brick surface. A sunken, brick built, rectangular feature broadly in the centre of floor in Room 2 measured approximately 2m x 1m in plan and c. 1m deep. The interior faces of the pit were painted white and there was a step at the western end. The function of this feature is not clear.
