Summary

The site of a former Methodist chapel in Shavington. It is possible that this building was repurposed for use as chapel, as opposed to being purpose built. The chapel was replaced by a new building in 1876 (see CHER 5471/2).

Full Description

This map depicts a building at this location which is labelled Meth. Chapel (United Free).

The building is depicted on this map, but appears approximately half the size length-wise. It is part of a plot containing a further larger building, described as a cottage and garden.

The building is no longer labelled as a chapel. A new chapel has been built c.80 metres to the south-east (see CHER 5471/2).
