Full Description

A channel, and in some places a pipe, which connects with Moss Mere in Cholmondeley Park and a network of drainage channels in Moss Wood and Bret’s Moss which brought water to the mill pond of Bickley Mill. It is named Mill Drain on modern Ordnance Survey maps (see 2) and drains via the former overflow leat to the mill, into Bar Mere. The presence of one of the piped sections is preserved in the place name Pipehouse Farm in Bickley.
