<1> Historic England & Archaeological Research Services, 2017, Cheshire National Mapping Programme and Lidar Mapping Project: Sampling the Peak Fringe, Cheshire Plain and Mersey Valley, 1598343 (Digital Archive). SCH8172.
An area of small extractive pits, possible a coal mining site of medieval and / or post medieval origin, is visible as extant earthworks centred at approximately SJ 9907 8366 on historic vertical photography and appears extant on the latest 2011 aerial imagery (2-3).
