The farmhouse and adjacent farm building occupy the probable site of the lodge buildings associated with Wilkinson's Lodge and the buildings associated with the early to mid nineteenth century tree nursery. For further details please see CHER 15538.

This map is the first to depict the farm buildings adjacent to Houdslough Lane. The range is E shaped with the longest axis aligned north-east to south-west. A large probable yard is located to the immediate north-west. The farmhouse and an additional building are located c.70 metres to the south. The farmstead is labelled Hondslough Farm.

Further farm buildings have been constructed to the north-east and south-west following the same alignment as the pre-existing range. A large open sided building has been constructed to the north-west within the yard area.

In 1856 provision was made to convert areas ill-suited to tree planting into farms. The Hondslough area was the first to be completed c.1860, and after extensive marling of the land, new farm buildings were constructed as part of the improvements.
