Earthworks associated with ridge and furrow and former field boundaries survive within this area of woodland. The earthworks probably date from the late medieval to early post medieval periods.

Earthworks associated with ridge and furrow and former field boundaries are visible on LIDAR survey data. Further earthworks associated with former marl pits are also visible. The ridge and furrow is regular and straight, and averages five to six metres in width. The individual blocks conform to the field boundaries defined by ditches.
