Dallam Moss is described in the North West Wetlands project, an archaeological and paleoecological study of the varied wetlands of Cheshire, undertaken between 1993-95. It lies to the west of Warrington and was probably enclosed and bought into cultivation in the 1820s and 1830s. The moss is shown on both Yate's County (Lancashire) map of 1786 and Greenwood's map of 1818, however, by the time of the OS First Edition Map (Lancs sheet 108, 1849), the moss had been divided into four parts (woodland and arable). The Moss now lies largely under the Gemini Retail Park.
