White House Moss was investigated by the North West Wetlands project, an archaeological and paleoecological study of the varied wetlands of Cheshire, undertaken between 1993-95. The site, a former basin mire north of Congleton, is severely damaged by peat cutting and drainage and is now covered by plantations. The site has little palaeoecological potential.
