A house is depicted on the Tithe Map for Halton (1845) on land at the junction of Main Street and Castle Road. The plot number is 252, owned by Robert Wright, occupied by Jane Orred and described as 'House, Outbuildings & Garden'.

The First Edition Ordnance Survey map (1875) shows a larger building, titled 'The Mount' , with outbuildings, in the location of the former house.
