An archaeological evaluation, undertaken in 2020, on land to the west of Delph Lane, Daresbury, investigated a former field boundary depicted on the 1844 tithe map and potentially of some antiquity. Trenches 1 and 2 were located along the length of the east-west former boundary and evidence was found of tree bowls along the alignment of the boundary, indicating that this was a hedge or planted boundary.
