Full Description
<1> Historic England & Archaeological Research Services, 2017, Cheshire National Mapping Programme and Lidar Mapping Project: Sampling the Peak Fringe, Cheshire Plain and Mersey Valley, 1598349 (Digital Archive). SCH8172.
A group of three post medieval coal mining adits and associated spoil heaps are visible as extant earthworks centred at approximately SJ 9876 8290 on lidar imagery (see 2). The adits appear to exploit a natural rocky outcrop and remain extant on the latest 2011 aerial photography (see 3).
