Monument record 15256 - Site of Former Solicitor's Office on Winnington Street

House, now solicitor's office, probably late eighteenth century; Flemish bond brown brick with pale headers; slate roof. Two storeys plus attics, five windows, the central opening now blocked. Brick plinth. Door of six fielded panels in timber case; twelve-pane slightly recessed sashes, with sash-boxes exposed, under flat gauged brick arches. Interior: Doors of six margined panels downstairs; open-well. stair of two flights with shaped brackets, newels and turned balusters; doors of six fielded panels upstairs; folding shutters in window embrasures.

The building at Winnington Street was a probably late-eighteenth century house built of brown brick with a slate roof. At the time of the survey around 1986 it was in use as a solicitor's office. The house was first Grade II listed on 19 August 1986. Consent was granted on 26 October 2004 for the demolition of 16 Winnington Street, Northwich.
