A former sandstone or gritstone quarry on Congleton Edge. The quarry operated in the mid to late nineteenth century. A small building which was located in the quarry remains as a ruin.

This plot is named Sherrats Wood and is described as woodland.

This map depicts a quarry with the working face adjacent to the road. A crane is depicted.
