Full Description

<1> English Heritage, 2005, List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest, 57977 (Digital Archive). SCH4666.

Farmhouse: early eighteenth century altered nineteenth century. Coursed squared, buff sandstone rubble. Kerridge stone-slate roof and two stone chimneys. Two parallel ranges. two-storeys, two-bay south front has two barge-boarded gables above broadened three-light windows, the lower examples retaining two stone mullions. Door in the range to the rear under plain stone lintel. Interior: Chamfered ceiling beam visible through the door.

The farmstead, comprising two buildings and labelled Shores Clough, is depicted on this map.

This map depicts the farmhouse with two ranges of farm buildings to the immediate north-west, astride the lane which passes to the north of the farmhouse. Orchards are depicted adjacent to the house and to the west, and there is a well to the south.

The farm buildings appear to have been converted, possibly to houses. The orchards are no longer extant.
