Summary

The tithe map depicts two parallel rectangular buildings aligned east-west and a circular building to the immediate south. This is a brick and tile works with an associated kiln (the circular building) and clay pit associated with the Arley Estate. The buildings had been demolished by 1877, but the former extraction pit survives as a slight earthwork and below ground archaeological remains associated with buildings may survive in this area.

This map depicts two parallel rectangular buildings aligned east-west and a circular building to the immediate south. The plot is described as a 'brick and tile yard, shed and oven'.

None of the buildings are depicted on this map, but within the plot depicted on the tithe map (see 1), is a sub-square area of scrub or marsh.

Brick and tile works with associated kiln (the circular building) and clay pit (the area depicted on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition (see 2). The ownership recorded on the tithe award (see 1) suggests that this was associated with the Arley Estate. The former extraction pit survives as a slight earthwork (see 4) and below ground archaeological remains associated with buildings may survive in this area.
