Field names 351 ( Millfield Pingot) and 353 (Millfield) on the Tithe Map. Topography shows this is thehighest elevation of Alvanley. Also there is a reference in Cheshire Sheaf about the destruction of a windmill during a storm in June 1687. A letter went from the tenants of Alvanley to Sir John Arderne

Plot 351 on the Alvanley tithe map of 1844 is recorded as Millfield Pingot. The owner is Trustees of the late John Arden and the occupier is Samuel Jepson. Plot 353 in name Millfield. The owner is Trustees of the late John Arden and the occupier is Peter Wright.

Reprint of the text of a pamphlet printed in London in 1687 titled " A true relation of the Great Thunder, Lightening, Rain, Great Wind, and Prodigious Hail that happened at Alvanley in the Parish of Frodsham" the document to Sir John Ardern from tenants in Alvanley in June 1687 describes a storm that destroyed a windmill.
