Stable block to Darnhall Abbey. Mid nineteenth century. Red English garden wall bond brick with slate roof. Single storey with two-storey cottages and two-storey entrance tower. Rectangular courtyard with entrance gate tower across south-western angle at 45°. Coach house (northern) courtyard front: central double carriage doors with basket arch and keystone with figurehead. Shallow pedimented gable above with octagonal clock face. Octagonal bellcote to ridge with round arched openings and pilasters to corners with dome over. To left are three bays with a central door and to right are a door at left and three windows to right of it. Eastern front has two bays with window to corner and door to right of it with two carriage doorways to right again. This rhythm is reversed at the projecting wing to the left which joins with the gate tower which has a round-arched gateway with ashlar springers and three arched lancets to the first floor. Range of three cottages adjoining this on the side facing the coach house with wedge lintels to doors and windows and stone sills and hipped dormers.
