Summary

The site of a farmstead known to have been here in the fourteenth century. The farmstead once comprised the farmhouse, outbuildings and barns, but now only part of the farmhouse survives as a ruin.

There are documentary references to this place-name dating from 1357 (Dumples), 1384, 1611 and 1831 (Dimpus, see 2).

The farmstead is depicted on this map and is labelled Dimpus.

This map depicts four buildings located at the southern end of an enclosed plot. The plot is described as a house, outhouses and part of Fold Croft and garden. It was occupied by Francis Bullock.

This map depicts the probable house with attached outbuildings. To the south and south-east are two long barn like buildings. Further to the south-east is a trough and a small quarry.

Many of the buildings have been reduced in size.

Part of the possible house and barn like building to the south-east survive. The barn like building to the south is ruined or part demolished.
