The Hall of Kingsley rebuilt c.1594. '...A large gabled structure, with immensely thick walls of turf and lime, and full of beautifully carved oak fittings... This building, after standing nearly three hundred years, was about forty years ago [c.1840] taken down, and its place supplied by a naked-looking farm-house. An immense barn was also demolished about the same timeā¦'
