Full Description
During the clearance of a building site (the date of this event is unknown, but it must have taken place before 1957) on the north side of Foregate St., c 230m east of the East Gate and roughly opposite the ABC Cinema (which would put the location at about 79 - 81 Foregate Street), excavations to natural sediment at a depth of 2.6m, revealed walls that were described as roughly constructed walls and two black layers of sediment producing Flavian and Flavian-Trajanic pottery, separated by clean sand (1).
