Two parallel and almost continuous linear cropmarks defining c.320m of a road or trackway orientated north-east to south-west. A small number of linear cropmarks, possible field boundaries, join these features at ninety degrees.

These features do not correspond with any boundaries depicted on historic nineteenth century maps (see 2 and 3). Sandbach Heath was enclosed sometime between 1777 and 1819 (see 4 and 5). Therefore it is probable that these features relate to an existing field system at the fringe of the heath which was remodelled during the enclosure of the open heath. However, there is always the possibility that they are of some antiquity.
